are the three ski centers located in Mendoza where you can practice

Las Leñas |
Las
Leñas is the most modern of the great ski centres of Argentina.
It has 34 kilometres of tracks between 2,250 and 3,430 metres above
sea level. In addition it has an off-track area for extreme skiing.
It also features 12 ski lifts which can carry 10,000 skiers per hour,
thus guaranteeing minimal waiting time.
In Las Leñas, Argentina, everything has been carefully planned
with skiers in mind. For this reason every comfort detail has been
catered to.
The close location of the ski slopes to the accommodation of choice
makes it possible for skiers to literally ski to their room.
It has several 3, 4, and 5 star hotels, apartments and dormitories.
An economical option is to stay in Malargüe, 45 minutes from
the valley, where ski passes can also be purchased at half price.

How
to get there: Las Leñas is situated 450 km
south of Mendoza city, in the district of Malargüe, and 1200
km from Buenos Aires. There is access by airplane, automobile and
bus. Flights are operated from Buenos Aires to Malargüe, and
there is a shuttle bus from there to Leñas. Non-sop flights
are also chartered from San Paulo (Brazil) to Malargüe during
the high season.
If travelling by car from Buenos Aires, national roads 7, 188, 143,
144 and 40 and provincial road 222 take you to Las Leñas, located
20 km past a town called Los Molles. |

Penitentes |
Located
174 km from Mendoza city on international road 7, only 4 km from Mount
Aconcagua and very close to Chile, Penitentes offers a selection of
activities and the privilege to ski on top quality snow in all its
runs at all levels.
One of the advantages of Penitentes is that the lodging facilities
are situated at the foot of the mountain, which makes it possible
to enter and exit the rooms skiing, which is an irresistible pleasure.
There is a wide choice of accommodation from student hostels to four
star hotels. There are also furnished apartments for rent with all
the services, strategically located in the heart of the mountain.
Alternatively, skiers may choose to stay in Uspallata and Puente del
Inca. |

How
to get there:
Penitentes can be reached through international road 7, which is fully
paved and safe driving.
Planes arrive at Francisco Gabrielli airport, situated 6 km from Mendoza
city. There are daily flights from Buenos Aires connecting in Ezeiza
with international flights.
Different bus companies also connect Mendoza with the rest of the
country and neighbouring contries as well. There is a regular bus
service from Mendoza to Penitentes. |

Vallecitos |
Vallecitos
is the oldest ski centre in the province and is situated 85 km from
Mendoza city, in Potrerillos. Located at the foot of Cordón
del Plata, its base is 2,900 metres above sea level and is ideal to
practice nordic and alpine skiing, as well as cross-country skiing
and snowboarding.
It has 12 tracks with a total ski surface of 100 hectares with dry
and dust snow.
It has beginning, intermediate and difficult slopes traced on lowlands
joined between them, adding up to a total of almost 5 km of runs.
In the summertime its shelters are used by climbers who want to reach
the summit of Mount el Plata and the neighbouring mountains. |
